Sanathana Dharma
The Eternal Faith

Popularly known in the west as Hinduism, Sanathana Dharma is the oldest surviving and continuously practiced religious tradition in the world. And that despite the fact that Hindus have undergone the greatest human holocaust of history at the hands of Islamic and Christian invasions and occupations.  It's foundational scriptures, the Vedas, have recently been dated as far back as 8,000 years or more.  With the imminent collapse of the "Aryan Invasion Theory" (AIT), a greater understanding of the depth and scope of Vedic civilization and it's effects upon the civilizations of the world is coming to light.

While it is true that there have been many changes and adaptations to Sanatana Dharma over the millennia, this is due to the very nature of Hinduism.  It is a dynamic,  living, growing, developing way of life.  Unlike the so-called "historical religions" (i.e., Judaism, Christianity and Islam), this religion is not based on one person's view, or upon the beliefs of one particular age of history that demands to be continued without change forever.  The very life-blood of Hinduism is it's tolerance, acceptance, and it's ability to adapt to the needs of the people who follow it.  Sanatana Dharma includes many "sects", all considered valid, such as  Saiva, Vaishnava, Shakta, Smarta, Buddha Dharma, Khalsa (Sikhism), Jain and others.

In this section of Sivaloka, we will be presenting articles describing this Eternal Way, it's many manifestations, and how it can be applied to our everyday modern lives.  I will be sharing some of my thoughts on these subjects with you, as well as presenting some postings from others whom I have participated with in various online forums dedicated to the exploration of Hinduism, and discourses from some of the world's leading spiritual masters, such as Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi, Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and Swami Krishnananda.
